Breathe – A Five Minute Friday Reflection

03. February 2017 Beloved Letters 7

It’s five minute friday time, and today I offer this poem. May it be encouraging to all who read.

In and out
Heavy sighs reduce the tension raging in the soul.
The intake of air is enough to knock hope back into my being.

The sound of life settles in my bones.
The heartbeat of hope stills my mind
In and out
Falling deep into quiet solace found in the shadow of His wing, I hide.
Breath of heaven
Breath of life breathe on me

In the silence I hear myself whisper,
“It is well with my soul. All is at peace.”
I am aware.
I am mindful.
Here I release the weight of this world.
I put down my worry.
I pick up peace that none can take away.

Not by might
Not by power
But by His spirit
His Ruach – breath, wind, spirit – is Alive in me
Be still my soul, and hope in God.

I breathe in and out

I am alive.
I am alive.
I am living.
His breath is my breath
I can rest.

This is my FMF poem for the prompt: Breathe … And stop.
