Wait In Silence {Holding Faith}

Quiet drapes the darkness
Whispers of sorrow rise and fall from my chest
The Lord was crucified like a common criminal
In the air hangs the Easter King’s last words
It is finished.

Silence burgeons with expectation, hope remains
I come to the cross again
Here is my sin, my brokenness, my fallibility
I lay it all at your pierced and bloody feet.

I wait for you, for your rising, for your return.
Easter King you’ve come and made all things new
My hope will rest in you
The tomb will be empty, and you will victoriously rise again.

Quiet peace wraps round my soul
Whispers of restoration escape my lips
The Lord has made all things right
The Easter King will come again in glory.
