When You Need a Love Letter to Yourself {31 Days}

Dear Heart,

We’ve traversed the edges of sorrow’s mountain. We walked the jagged cliffs of disappointment’s heartache. We’ve even clung to faith as life burned the palms of our hope with disdain. We have held on, and we’ll keep hanging on.

Heart, you keep pushing me to show up day in and day out. Time and again you won’t let up. I cannot quit you heart of mine. When I need a love letter, You write hope upon the fractured lines of my soul.

For in this heart, dwells Another who holds my bits of human fiber together. In this body temple resides One whose faithful truth overturns the judgments and despair sent against me. So, heart, rise up. Be restored. Throw off those weights of fear that have tried to keep you shackled. Remember Whose you are.

You were made for more than cowering in the shadows, soul bent with shame. You, dear heart, were made for love. You are invited to connection and sacred belonging. You are made for grace. Heart, hear me now.

Life will have its rise and fall, but the faithful love of God will keep you. Life will ebb, yet it will flow. The unchanging grace of God will keep you. Life will not be without its own pains. The presence and peace of God will guard you, heart and soul. Hear, dear one, this love letter to your self.

Look up with hope. Steady your feeble knees, and stand on the Promise. Do not lose heart. You are not alone on this arduous journey. You are NOT alone.

Listen. Still your heart. A holy whisper rises to your ears. God is speaking, so hold fast to His infinite promise. I’m right here. I’m right here. I’m right here. Now rest your weary soul.

This post is a part of my 31 Days of Writing challenge and the second half of the lemonade stories. There are more stories to tell and moments of when to live through.  It’s all about taking the sour things of life and reframing them to find the sweetness of faith, hope, and resilience. I hope you’ll join me on this month-long journey.  You’ll also find me sharing bits and pieces on my Twitter and IG accounts. I’d love to see you here, and you can also subscribe to my blog/newsletter here.
