As He Is, So Are We

As He Is, So Are We

Creativity abounds around my online spaces. I’ve been participating in the 100 Day Project. My project has been hand lettering my favorite bible verses since April 4. In July I began winding down toward the end of the Bible and was pondering a verse from 1 John 4:17, and it reminds me who I am so I wanted to share these thoughts with you.

Love has been perfected in us. I love this verse. It reminds me who I am in Christ. As He is, so I am, so are we. Think about that friends. If you’re a Christ follower, you’ve been carrying God all around. You and I are being perfected in Him.

We are not weaklings. We are not without hope. We are not like the world. We are as God is in this world. That is powerful. Let’s live as such. In all we do and say, we have been empowered to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our world. And this kind of being has the potential to invite people to be wholly themselves and wholly loved without condition in ways that defy logic and judgment. After all, when I look in the mirror, I think to myself, “because of His grace, I’m alive and well and prospering.”

Imagine! How much change we will see when we remember Whose we are and what we have been called to do, and that we have already been enabled to do more than we could ever ask or imagine through Christ our Lord. As He is in the world, so are we.

Let it settle deep into your soul and bones. This is who you are: a child of God graced with His power and presence. That’s good news! Now go live by just being all His and let the being become what you do.

You can see my projects on Instagram and Facebook too. Stay tuned because I’ll be sharing more for you and I. In the mean time, where are you finding hope and unearthing a bit of light in the darkness? I’d love to hear your stories.

Share your thoughts.
