Be Steadfast Always

God’s word is powerful and life changing! There are many bible verses that are spiritual steel for me. They are my constant. They snap me out of bad thinking or wrongly identifying with lies or half truths. They remind me who I am. These verses speak life and give me courage to live well.

Tonight I was reminded of the word steadfast in the first chapter of Corinthians.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭15:58‬ ‭

This verse encourages me to keep moving forward. it reminds me to throw off the unnecessary weights. They gently but sternly preach to throw off expectations that aren’t mine and don’t belong to me because wrong expectations can hinder me from growing and living fully in/from the call of God on my lice. These God-breathed words invite me to always live, love, be, and work free. They whisper that it is okay for me to stay in my vein – the particular calling and purpose on my life. The Word encourages me to do the work because it won’t be in vain – work that I am uniquely gifted and qualified to do. That’s good news!

I’m encouraged to live forward in Christ and these sacred endeavors knowing that He is making me more than able to do what I think I cannot do. He is investing His Spirit and Presence in my life – into my ordinary, everyday mundane. He makes me capable! This is grace. This is to be empowered. God can be trusted to see us through. He never leaves us without the tools we need to fulfill the work He has called us to.

I encourage you to lean into God. Pray, and listen for His voice. He really does have good in store for you. Don’t be afraid to ask God what He has to say to you. He is a good Father!

Where do you need to be steadfast in this right now moment? In what way can you remind your soul that your labor is not in vain? Share your stories. Let’s be steadfast together.

I Cor. 15:58 is the favorite verse of one of my favorite missionary heroes. She has lived its truth through so much adversity, and you’ve brought her sweet face to mind this morning!
