When I am world weary, I read the bible and find hope – solace for my soul. I find rays of hope splitting the darkness that would try to consume. I see Christ the King and Shepherd guarding my heart. His light heals and makes me whole.
I whisper the refrain of heaven, “blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever,” and find a comfort I cannot explain.
This God we cannot see, is ever near and close to the broken hearted. When I fix my eyes upon Him again, peace wells up. Fear dissipates. To be still and know is restoration for the heart – to dwell in the quiet place is reprieve. I whisper the refrain again; “blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb forever and ever.” I choose to turn my gaze on Christ who holds all things together.
Worry can’t hold me. Doubt can’t keep me. Sin has been broken. Death has lost its sting. This world has no grip in me. Love has won. The King has won. So again I say, “blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits in the throne!”
