On Vulnerability

I’m fairly sure this won’t be the last time I write about vulnerability. Today I’m wondering what would happen if we all got real and honest about self acceptance rather than harboring the thief of self rejection. Real talk. To be vulnerable is risky, but it’s worth it.

Today is all about affirming the truth and shutting down the lies. I’m sharing with you my ams and am nots plus a page from my gluebook. I encourage you to create your own affirmations of who you are. Be open to the beauty of who you are meant to be.

  1. I am not cast out.
  2. I am not forgotten.
  3. I am not left behind.
  4. I am not ignored.
  5. I am not rejected.
  6. I am not scorned.
  7. I am not looked over.
  8. I am not discarded.
  9. I am not unloved.
  10. I am not unseen.

Well that’s enough of the am nots. This is what I want to affirm on repeat.

  1. I am loved.
  2. I am whole.
  3. I am treasures.
  4. I am accepted.
  5. I am chosen.
  6. I am cherished.
  7. I am forgiven.
  8. I am wanted.
  9. I am beauty-full.
  10. I am redeemed.
  11. I am purposed.

I choose to believe these truths. I affirm them in my life even when I’m doubtful. What kindness do you need to speak over your soul? Speak gently. Speak kindly. Speak with affirming truth.

Hi Marvia, I wrote my post this morning and then, because it’s Tuesday, I had a hunch I should seek you out. So I came and we are thinking about the same things ( although I know I”m a week behind you!) . You are loved and whole and treasured, and all those other things too. And I am glad to be here with you, trying to remember those things about myself too.
